East and West asks each participant before they enter, "How do you enter?" Give each a hug and say "Welcome sister" (or "welcome brother.")
(After everyone has formed a circle:)
East:
"Sacred Fire, the light that burns brightly in our souls,
bringer of warmth to our hearths, flames of life and
destruction, lend us your strength. Come and join us this
night."
South:
"Sacred Earth, Giver of life, mother of us, bless us with your presence, bring
us your grace. Come and join us this night."
West:
"Sacred Water, rushing rivers, water that moves
mountains, oceans of deep, quencher of thirsts, we ask you
to offer us introspection. Come and join us this night."
North:
"Sacred Air, life we breathe, conjurer of storms, in the
murmurs of your winds bring the knowledge to us of our
ancestors. Come and join us this night."
HPS:
"The Circle is cast
We have stepped into a place
Where time does not exist,
Where the worlds come together,
A place where Birth delivers death
Where night runs into day
And where Joy and sorrow
Come together as one
In a time that is not a time
In a place that is not a place
On a day that is not a day
We stand at the threshold
Before the veil of mysteries
May the Ancient Ones help and protect us
On our magical journey."
HP:
"In the light of the moon on this October night, we come
together, leaving behind the mundane world. We remove our
differences, taking up the roles as the daughters and sons of
the Goddess and Her consort. We celebrate together as a
whole. Inside this circle the things which separate us
disappear and we stand here naked, each equal to the
other."
1st speaker:
"There was a time when we did not have cars to travel,
phones to make calls, or pagers to message. Clans, villages,
and families would be separated. They would go for long
periods of time without seeing or hearing from each other.
The seasons would sweep across the lands, the White Lady changing from Maiden, to Mother, to Crone. Fields would be planted, crops tended, and the harvest would come. This is the moment when all would come together; families become whole again. A celebration of Life would take place. A union of the whole. We would come together and humanity would be at its best. It was a moment when life ties would grow stronger."
2nd speaker:
"We now live in a fast-paced world. We are no longer
separated by rivers, mountains, oceans, or streams.
But we are just as separated, if not more so, by politics, religion, ideology, and greed. Wars arise and separations are wide-spread; families torn apart and lives destroyed.
The seasons continue to make their rounds and the White Lady's face changes as she has always done since the beginning. We may come together at festivals, rituals, and circles, to proclaim our religious views and shared values, but we don't always come together as a community of people. We then return back home and stand in lines, read a headline or two, being ignored, ignoring others."
3rd speaker:
"We have a responsibility, not only to our pagan
community, but to humanity. We have the responsibility to
have compassion and awareness for our brothers and sisters
of this world. The community lines that we have drawn are
not seen or recognized in the eyes of Mother Earth. What
happens to one side of Her, affects the other side. As a stone
is thrown into a pool of water, a ripple runs across the entire
surface, causing a change throughout. We must cast our
stone and make a change! We must do our part in bringing
the community closer together, to have the harvest
celebration of life. We must recognize all of humanity. We
must know our brothers and sisters. And we must
care."
HP:
"Though we may not be whole, we are one at this
moment. Take up the hands of your sisters and brothers now.
We will begin to work together by raising energy through
chanting for awareness, that maybe for one moment eyes will
be open and those that go unseen will be seen. Send out our
voice to the heavens."
Chant:
OPEN OUR EYES, LET US SEE!
ONE WORLD COMMUNITY!
When the energy has been raised the HP Raises his hands and says "Send it out!"
HPS:
"Let us now come together for a moment of sharing of
water."
Water sharing-have 4 chalices of water, swirled after circle is cast and swirled again after energies used. Quarters will come in and get chalices, pass clockwise from their quarter to the next, while PS reads:)
"Water is the lifeblood of the earth. And the Moon and Sun play the water of the earth as the heart courses the blood in our own veins. The earth's rivers and streams are her arteries and veins; her seas and oceans the womb from which new creation is made. The clouds and rain are the breath of the earth, which brings refreshed and renewed life."
"We of the Faerie Faith share of water to celebrate our unity with the living earth."
"Share of my water and know that as the rain it is the bringer of life.
Share of my water, and know that as the oceans and seas it is the womb of life.
Share of my water, and know that as the clouds it is the seeker, the traveler with a mission.
I share of the water, and may all know that as the streams and rivers, it is the shapechanger, the destroyer of old, and at the same time, through change, the creatrix of new.
Knowing well that water is the essence of life, we have shared and become one, and now as one, we offer our lives to She who is the Mother of all life, in service and in love."
HPS:
"I'd like to ask that after we ground the circle, each of
you stay awhile and join in on a harvest celebration. This is
our moment to come together and enjoy the company of each
other. Take this time to meet your brothers and sisters."
(HPS pours some water on the ground.)
"As a family we have gathered to share with the elements; earth, water, fire and air. From this circle of mystery we now depart To live our lives in our mother's heart."
(Do Freddie, ring bell)
"It is done!"
(Now have everyone come together in the center, socialize, have apple cider and apple slices)
